Matariki
Do you know what Matriki means
well you are about to find out . Did you that matariki is a constellation of stars called seven sisters that come out at Maori new year they appear around end of may and begging of June. At Maori new year people used have something called a storage house in Maori that is pataka kia
also the land we are livening on right now is called whenua , and around Matariki lots of pepole spend lots time with there family so we Maori
call it whanua and whakpapa means ancestry . Maori believe that if the stars where clear and bright it would be a warm season,and if they where gloomy it would be a bad and cold season. two whys that Maori celebrated matariki having a big fest or go to the beach . Hopefully you found out something about mattariki .
